Client: I am a C but I must be a weird shape because i’m pouring out of the sides of my bra! I think I need to lose weight first.
Client’s Friend: No way that you’re a C. I’m a C. I got professionally fitted
A month goes by….
Client: So it turns out I’m a DDD !!!
I see this happen way too often. I had a friend thinking she was an A and turned out to be a D. Wearing the wrong thing for most of her adult life. How does this happen? Well it’s more common than you think.
It’s been said that up to 80% of women could be wearing the wrong bra size!
A bra that fits can be the difference between loving trying out clothes and the way you look or never wanting to shop for clothes again. When a woman shows up to her shoot with ill fitting clothes, it’s hard to make a proper decision for her outfits without compromise. When the bra is too tight, the skin gets squeezed out of the sides, and when it’s too big, a voluptuous chest looks almost flat!
“When it comes to bra sizes, most women still buy into the idea that bigger is better - at least where the cup size is concerned. Yet conversely, many women, shy away from larger band sizes. What we don’t often realize is that cup sizes don’t equal the size of your breasts. They refer to the difference between the size of your breasts and your rib cage. Meaning that someone with a 34C still has smaller CUPS than a 36C. Going up a band size, instead, can provide just the right fit for the many women whose cups runneth over but find themselves swimming in the next cup size up….Wearing the wrong bra size can produce breast pain and bra irritation. A study showed that women with larger breasts tend to have an even larger error when choosing a bra size”
It is important to get properly fitted at a lingerie store before shopping, especially before online shopping! They will measure you and help find something that fits in your perfect size. Make an appointment and see if there’s an experiences consultant available.
Every body is different so while a 38D piece can fit perfectly on a mannequin and maybe one woman, it will not fit another woman with the exact same 38D size. Bodies and shapes are just different. The important thing is to make sure you absolutely love it. If you don’t love it, it won’t even matter if it fits or not. Go for pieces that make you excited to be photographed in.
Each unique piece can bring out a different side of your personality out, whether bubbly and colourful or dark and leather. Think of what makeup looks will go along with it too to complete the look.
