Male Boudoir Photographer Reservations

Reservations about working with a male boudoir photographer?

There’s a reason that 90% of boudoir photographers are female representing. These sessions are you at your most vulnerable and some women are not comfortable being half nude in front of a stranger that’s not their partner. (or their male partner is NOT OK with her posing in front of another man)

The reality is every woman is different, some aren’t comfortable being in little clothing in front of a man and others aren’t comfortable being in little clothing in front of other women. Some women may feel uncomfortable with the prospect of vulnerability in front of another woman, fearing potential judgment or comparison, and the presence of a male photographer might create a sense of liberation, free from scrutiny that they might anticipate from a fellow woman.

On the other hand, some women might feel more at ease with a female photographer due to shared experience and an assumed understanding of the female perspective. Regardless of gender, establishing a personal connecting and building trust with your photographer is the key to minimizing apprehensions and nervousness on the big day.

The main thing we try to prioritize is comfort, which is why we have pre-meetings and pre-consultations to make sure our personalities jive with each other before the big day. The last thing you want is to show up nervous and rushed to a shoot and feel like you’re vulnerable in front of a complete stranger that you don’t trust. Building trust is a key to the comfort level we both seek. Nurturing a rapport will significantly enhance the comfort and confidence you will feel during the big day.

If you’re comfortable, you’ll look less nervous in the photos. Which is a win win. Less work for me and more smiles from you. This is your big day and we all want you feeling your best because we’re going to remember this day forever!

Most of my clients come from referrals, which is the fastest way to build trust. If your friend went through the whole process and trusts and recommends the photographer, it’ll be a much easier sell.
