Good Girl / Bad Romance

It’s always tricky to shoot anything that involves kink. You will offend someone out there as hard as you try not to. I wanted to do a shoot celebrating the kinkier lifestyle. There’s been a growing interest in light bondage for some reason….(a certain book/movie perhaps?)
There are a lot of misunderstandings out there and I’m not an expert by any means but sometimes what’s glorified is actually borderline abuse. The most important thing is consent. As long as the two parties talk about it before and spend some time talking about it after the act.

So with that little bit out of the way. Let’s talk about this shoot.

We had access to a wonderful vintage house with beautiful flooring and big windows. The couple was an actual couple and their chemistry was thick in the air. They knew their way around all the kink toys and were really comfortable with each other.
Most of the kink elements were just implied. Nothing was overt. We did a simple shibari set up on her and had some toys sitting on the table.
It was all a big tease, to let the mind wonder instead of being graphic about it.

I always liked the idea of a mysterious man…..it’s called Mystery Man Photography after all.
A mysterious man in a suit, a visual embodiment of the character of the male gaze.
Many boudoir clients get these photo shoots done for their special someone. Be it an engagement gift, an anniversary gift or just a gift to themselves. Either way, it was fun having the lady pose for her man and interact with him rather than the camera. It made it more raw and more real.

My favourites are the shots of her undressing with his face always being covered strategically.
If you liked the photos, you’ll love the video that goes along with it.

If you are a couple that’s daring enough to get a shoot of your own. Don’ hesitate to ask about booking a couple shoot.
I’d love to shoot more couples.
